The play date

My 3 year old daughter, Donna has been going to pre-school for a little over a year and she really looks forward to going. We do not have many kids near her age in our neighborhood. Her best friend at pre-school is another girl her age named Jessica. Jessica is African-American. At first I was concerned about them being friends. I grew up in a small town that only had one black family and none of them were close to my age. I admit that I was a little prejudice. But as I watched them enjoying playing together and met and talked to her mother, my opinions and attitude changed.

I am a single father. My wife left us almost two years ago to be with a rich man that had taken a liking to her, given her a job that had her traveling around the world with him, then seduced her and stole her from us. Jessica’s mother, Yolanda had never married. After some time she had told me some about her life as we waited for our kids at the pre-school. Jessica came from her senior year in high school. She was a cheerleader and after a big win she had let one of the first string players talk her into having sex with him. She got pregnant from that only time with him. They never talked about getting married.

Now she was about seven months pregnant with her second child. She had been dating this guy for a couple of months. When he found out that she was pregnant he disappeared. For the last several months when I would see her at the pre-school her belly was getting bigger and so were her breasts which were not small to start with. A couple of times she caught me staring at her body. She just gave me a little smile and I looked away.

Today we had set up a play date for the kids at my apartment. Jessica and Yolanda arrived at 3pm and I expected them to stay for a couple of hours while the girls played.
