The first day of school

Boy was I nervous. On my way to a new school. My mind was racing, my heart was pounding. I had one goal for the year, try to find a boyfriend. I wasn’t sure yet if I should come out to everyone, or try to build my reputation first. The bus stopped and I knew we had arrived. I thought that this is what it might feel like when you arrive at a prison. Stepping off that bus, not knowing what will happen to you at anytime. I had to deal with it though.
So I walked in and a cheery brunette girl greeted me.
“Hey, my name is Anna. I am here to introduce new students to people in their grade”, she said with a large smile.
I just nodded my head, and followed her to a room marked ‘10th Grade English’. I assumed this was my homeroom. I looked around and saw a group of 7 boys.
Anna shouted, “Hey guys, this is um…”
“Gabe”, I said bluntly.
“Oh sorry, Gabe. Guys this is Gabe, he is in your homeroom”, she said hurriedly.
Then she just walked out. Great. Trust me, this was really awkward. Just then a tall African American boy told me to grab a seat near them. At least someone was being outgoing to me. So there I just sat, laughed at a few of their jokes, and pretty much kept to myself. Occasionally the would tell me something, or ask me something, but nothing big.
All of a sudden someone walked into the homeroom. He was about 5’7, had short blonde hair, and had that hot rugged look. He had piercingly blue eyes that could melt the sun. I was amazed by what I saw. I just stared. He glanced at me, than at the group, and took a seat far from us. I felt bad seeing him sit alone like that, and I wondered why the other boys hadn’t said anything to him.
