Melissa’s Vacation

Finally, sometime alone together. Paul had planned a great 30th birthday for his wife. Melissa and Paul were your average young adult couple. Melissa was 29 and Paul was 33. Like others they were in the prime of their life but unfortunately had to work for a living and had little time to themselves. Both their jobs were stressful and lovemaking was only a couple times a month if they were lucky. So, when they finally got the opportunity to get away, they took it.

Melissa knew Paul had something naughty planned from the start. He had made her pack some sexy lingerie and heels. Not that she minded. It had been almost a whole month since their last sex and even that had been rushed. Melissa was a 5’7” dark haired, light eyed girl with a modest style but a hidden freaky side she only shared with her lover.

As they pulled up to the resort Melissa noticed it was not the usual cookie cutter hotel. The first building they came to was a long concrete building. It was connected to a fenced in outdoor area. It was painted a pale blue and is the distance Melissa saw several cabins surrounding a lake. Paul explained they would be getting their own cabin. Melissa was very excited imagining the romantic weekend ahead! Paul went inside to check in.

They drove up their cabin passing by a couple walking a dog and smiling. The cabins were spaced over a quarter mile away. This place kept things very private. The cabin was very nice. It was not the usual dirty old cabin. It looked as if it was built yesterday and had a tiny home appearance. It had a nice porch facing the lake.

Inside was cozy with a small sofa, a kitchenette and small dining area. It had a clean modern look contrasting the rural cabin seen outside. A fireplace was positioned in front of the sofa. Further inside was bathroom and a large bedroom.

Paul and Melissa began to unpack and settle in. The doorbell rang about an hour after they arrived. “Here you go. Food and water will be left daily by the maid service. He’s already for you to have a good time. Enjoy your stay.” Melissa was in the bedroom but heard the sound of paws scampering on the hard floor. She went to the living room and saw a dog.

“Meet Khan.” Paul said.

“What is going on? Melissa asked. Paul explained that the dog was part of the resort. He was their companion for their stay. Melissa was surprised. They had never owned a dog or expressed the need for one. She did not want to have to take care of anyone on her time off. Paul explained the food and everything was taken care of and because of the wildlife bears, coyotes he would help keep them safe on hikes. He was a specially trained dog Paul said and smiled. What did that smile mean Melissa thought? Khan trotted over in front of the fireplace and laid down. Whatever Melissa thought.

Khan turned out to be a very well-behaved dog. Most of the time it was like he was not even there. He sat around quietly and did not bother them while they had a quick meal. After they took a walk and did see a bear. Sure, he was on the other side of lake but Khan did bring a sense of protection now. Paul had a I told you so look on his face. Great Melissa laughed to herself now I got to deal with him thinking he is right all weekend; I think I would rather have a bear eat me.

They lit a fire and settled in for the night. Paul ended up falling asleep on the couch in front of the fire.
