Well Mom never did “deal with me later” that caused me to start thinking. I remember all the fights as my parents broke up. One of the things my dad had said was “you’re in charge of everything, but aware of nothing” I now realized what he meant. As time went on I only became even more and more aware of it. Mom bitterly announced that night, when she was supposed to be dealing with me later. That she had to get up really early on Friday to set up a display in Chicago so that she had to be on the road by 4:30 am. The look that Uncle Mark shot me later told me all I needed to know, she had no deal with him.
Friday morning came wayyy too early. Mom got me up at 4 am for no reason at all. I got dressed, then got the bright idea of mentioning “should I wake Uncle Mark?” then realized what a horrible idea it was to say that after yesterday. But mom just grunted while looking at her face in the mirror, yea you should. I walked into Uncle Marks room, he was sound asleep. I started to think for myself, this was really stupid, for me to be up or for him to be up. I never woke him up. I walked back out and told mom. “He said you had to go to Chicago, not him. He’s sleeping. Mom immediately stormed off into Uncle Marks room, I tried to keep up but she was way ahead of me. I heard her yell you, then his voice waking up, some yelling. Then Uncle Mark saying that it was his house and if she wanted to keep staying for free then she needed to shut the fuck up and let him sleep. My god my Uncle Mark could stand up to my mom! That made him even more of a hero in my eyes.
Mom came back and acted like I never heard a thing even though both of them were yelling. She said, its his house and he wants to sleep. Mom left at 5 instead of 4:30, not really saying another word to me. I thought about it for a second, then I stripped my self naked on purpose. Put my PJ’s back on. Even though I’m supposed to wear panties with them. I did that on purpose because mom pissed me off so much. Then I went to bed, never slept a bit because I was getting so excited at what could happen today. Mom was gone, absolutely gone! She was not coming back till Saturday at the earliest and I had to “wake up” Uncle Mark again. Because it was my job, certainly. That was the only reason.
