Brady Makes Up With His Mom

I’m sorry about the last story under this title. I posted a different, incomplete, story by accident. Brady and his mom have fought the last weeks. They decide to make up and have a fun night with drinks, games, and a movie. During the night Brady realizes things took an unexpected turn.

Brady Makes Up With His Mom

Brady pulled into the driveway and put his car into park. He sighed and took a deep breath. He has been having problems with his mom recently. They have been arguing a lot and she had been drinking hard. He was hoping she wouldn’t be passed out on the couch again. Brady grabbed his backpack, locked the car, and went into the house.

As Brady walked into the entry way, he heard his mom yell to him, “How was work today Brady?”

“It was work. Nothing interesting happened today if that’s what you mean,” Brady said.

Brady’s mom walked out of the kitchen into the living room next to the entry way. She sat down on the couch and put her drink on the coffee table. Looking at him standing next to the door she closed her eyes and then opened them again.

“Honey, we need to talk, well, I need to talk to you anyways,” Brady’s mom said.

“What about?” Brady replied.

“Well, we’ve been arguing a lot lately. I’ve been really stressed out with work and some other things. I’ve been taking it out on you and that isn’t fair. I just wanted to say… I just wanted to say, I’m sorry. I’ll try to do better.”

“It’s fine mom, we have both been stressed out the last week. I’ll also try to calm down and not bite your head off every time something happens.”

“That’s great honey, I appreciate that.” Brady’s mom continued, “You know what, it’s Friday today, no work for either of us tomorrow. Why don’t we have a movie night like we used to? Your sister is staying at a friend’s house the entire weekend. She won’t be home until Monday morning. The next couple of days will just be the two of us. We can have a few drinks and just relax tonight. How does that sound, honey?”

Brady thought about what he had planned and what he was doing the following day. He had nothing to do either day. He could be as hung over as he wanted and just sleep all day to recover.

Brady dropped his backpack in the corner and turned to his mom. “That sounds like a plan. Let’s do it!”

“Great! Why don’t you go shower and change out of your work clothes? When you’re ready, come down and we will have a few drinks.”

Brady started up the steps to his room and called down, “Be back in a few.”

After Brady showered and cleaned up, he changed into some comfortable clothes. He tossed on a clean t-shirt and some jogging pants then headed downstairs. When he walked into the living room his mom was sitting on the couch watching television now wearing a bathrobe. It looked like she had also decided to wear something more comfortable for the night. Brady also noticed a liter of whiskey, cans of Coke, tumblers, and shot glasses that sat on the coffee table.

“Wow! Looks like we have our own mini bar in the living room,” Brady said.

“I just brought in a few things so we wouldn’t have to get up too often. It’s much easier to just reach over and pour another drink instead of having to walk to the kitchen every time,” Brady’s mom replied.

“I agree. Good thinking.”

“Come over here and sit next to your mother. Tell me, how’s the dating scene going for you these days?”, Brady’s mom asked inquisitively. Her eyebrow’s rose slightly after asking the question.

“Well, there aren’t any females pounding down my door to date me, if that’s what you’re asking,” Brady replied. “I haven’t been able to scare up a date in quite a while. It’s going on for 4 months now.”

“Oh, you will find somebody. Any girl would be lucky to have you honey.”

“Yeah, well beating myself off is getting old,” Brady said. Blushing slightly, Brady looked at his mom and said, “sorry mom, probably didn’t want to know that.”

Brady’s mom smiled at him and affectionately rubbed his leg. She looked at Brady and said, “Honey, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Everybody does it. Hell, I do it. I did it last night.”

“Ok, mom. Ok, I get it. Ready to watch a movie now?”

“Well, I was thinking about something else first. Let’s play a game of Truth or Dare with a twist. We do a double shot before each turn. It will loosen us both up and it will be a little bit more fun if we are getting smashed while we talk and laugh. What do you think?” Brady’s mom inquired.

Brady thought for a minute and told his mom, “Why the fuck not, I’m not doing anything tomorrow. We can hang our heads all day together and recuperate. Let’s get to it!”

Brady’s mom opened a brand new 1.75-liter bottle of whiskey and set it in the middle of the coffee table. Two shot glasses were lined up in front of each of them, filled to the top. The amber hued liquid promised a fun night, but held the penalty for tomorrow.

“Ok, ready honey?” Brady’s mom asked.

Brady looked at his mom, took a deep breath, and said, “race you to the bottom!”

They both reached out for their shot glasses and gulped each one down, one after another. Looking at each other, they laughed. Both winced from the heat of the whiskey and squinted their eyes. Brady pounded his chest and made a small cough.

“Wow! Haven’t done that in a long time. Whew, I can feel the heat in my belly. So, do we flip a coin? Who goes first?” Brady asked.

“Well, age before beauty. So, I guess I go, I’ll ask the first question,” Brady’s mom replied.

“Come on mom, you’re beautiful. Are you fishing for compliments?”

“Thank you honey. I’m always fishing for young men to compliment me. What can I say? Ok, so, let’s start with a Truth question. Hmm… Ok, I have something. When was the last time you had sex?” Brady’s mom asked.

“Well, the last time I dated a girl was four months ago, but it was a month before that I last had sex. So, I guess five months now. Thanks for reminding me,” Brady replied.

Brady’s mom laughed which in turn caused Brady to laugh. Not getting laid in five months didn’t seem like such a big deal when he joked about it with his mom. She didn’t care and seemed genuinely interested in his love life. His mom could be easy to talk to when she wanted. Brady grabbed the bottle of whiskey and poured four more shots.

“Here we go, round two. Bottoms up!” Brady shouted.

They gulped down both shots again. Brady’s mom wiped off her lips with the back of her hand, hiccupped, and giggled. She set down her second shot glass, now empty.

“Swallowed too much air with that last shot. Ok, you’re up. Truth or Dare honey?” Brady’s mom asked.

“Well, I guess I’ll start with an easy one. Let’s go with Truth. I’ll return the same question. When was the last time you had sex mom?” Brady asked. Any embarrassment about the question was numbed by the alcohol.

“Well, since your dad and I divorced I haven’t seen many men. I guess I’m not on anyone’s radar or something. Anyways, the last time I had sex was about a year and a half ago if my memory serves. It has been so long I damn near forgot,” Brady’s mom sighed. “It is what it is I guess.”

“Wow, and I thought my 5 months was bad.”

“It’s hard for everyone to find someone special. Especially when you’ve been married to the same man for so long. When the marriage falls apart, you’re left to pick up the pieces and try to figure out what’s next.
